Australia’s low-cost airline Jetstar is marking its anniversary with a major ticket sale, offering domestic flights for just $29 and international deals from $129. The promotion includes over 29,000 low-price fares across popular routes and is open to the public until 29 August—unless sold out earlier.
The “Get Onboard Sale” celebrates the airline’s 2004 debut, with selected fares matching original launch prices. The initiative includes a wide spread of domestic and international destinations, aimed at boosting post-winter travel plans across the country.
The sale opened to Club Jetstar members from midday Monday, with general access starting at midnight the same day. Travel dates vary by route, covering journeys between mid-September 2025 and mid-June 2026, according to Jetstar.
Domestic Flights Start at $29 Across Key Australian Routes
Jetstar is offering 29,000 domestic fares priced at $29, recreating the low-cost carrier’s 2004 opening offer. Among the routes available at this price are Adelaide to Sunshine Coast, Brisbane to Melbourne, Hobart to Sydney, and Sydney to Gold Coast.
Additional domestic deals include Brisbane to the Whitsundays from $53, Canberra to the Gold Coast from $70, and Sydney to Darwin from $157. All fares are one-way and include carry-on baggage only, in line with Jetstar’s usual pricing model.
According to coverage by Sunrise, the airline’s discounted routes are already generating significant interest, especially among leisure travellers seeking to book school holiday and mid-year trips in advance. Jetstar has not disclosed how long availability will last for each fare, but noted that popular routes are likely to sell out quickly.
Club Jetstar members were given 12 hours of early access to the fares, before public release at midnight on Monday. The sale ends officially at 11.59pm AEST on Thursday 29 August, though most low-cost seats are expected to be claimed ahead of that deadline.
International Fares Start at $129, Including Major Destinations in Asia and the Pacific
Beyond domestic travel, Jetstar’s promotion also includes a range of discounted international routes, starting at $129. These include return flights to Singapore, Bali, Fiji, Vanuatu, and Tokyo.
Higher-tier offers include Ho Chi Minh City from $249, Tokyo from $259, Seoul from $269, Bangkok from $282 and Osaka from $299. All prices are one-way fares and exclude optional extras such as checked luggage or seat selection.
According to Jetstar, the pricing structure is aimed at encouraging Australians to plan international holidays well in advance, especially during low-season months. Routes are subject to availability, and travellers are encouraged to check travel conditions and entry requirements for each destination.
The airline has advised customers to act quickly, as the number of seats offered at the lowest advertised price is limited. As with most Jetstar promotional fares, conditions apply, and no changes or refunds are permitted on sale tickets.
The current campaign reflects a broader trend in post-pandemic travel across Australasia, where airlines are increasingly returning to price-driven strategies to stimulate passenger volumes.
