The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) has issued multiple recalls involving consumer goods sold via Amazon, citing serious safety concerns ranging from fire risk to potential infant suffocation and furniture tip-overs. The products include bioethanol fuel bottles, baby loungers, fabric dressers, and a rowing machine—all of which have been removed from the market due to violations of mandatory federal safety standards.

The recalls affect thousands of units sold across the United States and cover a range of price points and product categories. Official notices advise consumers to stop using the affected items and follow manufacturer instructions for refunds or repairs.

Wilteexs Fuel Bottles And WLIVE Dressers Raise Fire And Tip-Over Risks

The first recall affects the Wilteexs Bioethanol Fuel Bottles, approximately 1,100 units sold on Amazon between April and July 2025 for around $17 each. These bottles are used to power tabletop fire pits, fireplaces, and burners. The CPSC warns that the products lack flame mitigation devices, which are now required by the Portable Fuel Container Safety Act. Without them, users risk a flash fire during ignition.

Each bottle features “WILTEEXS,” “BIO ETHANOL,” and a flame graphic printed in blue and white on the front, with code X004IQ9ZCH printed beneath the barcode.

No injuries have been reported so far, but the risk is considered serious enough to justify an immediate product recall. Consumers are urged to dispose of the fuel in compliance with local regulations and contact Wilteexs for a refund.

The second high-risk product is the WLIVE Fabric 12-Drawer Dresser. The recall affects about 76,500 units sold from September 2023 to August 2025, each priced at around $83. The dressers have been found unstable when not anchored to a wall, violating the STURDY Act, which enforces stricter stability standards for furniture used around children. “ASNG092” is printed on the packaging of the affected models.

There has already been one tip-over incident, though fortunately, no injuries were reported. The risk of entrapment or fatal injury remains significant, particularly for small children. The CPSC has advised customers to stop using the dresser unless securely mounted and to contact WLIVE for disposal instructions and a full refund.

Infant Lounger And Rowing Machine Add To Amazon Product Concerns

Another significant recall involves the Belivium Baby Lounger, a portable infant product that violates several parts of the federal infant sleep safety standard. Only 280 units were sold through Amazon between November 2024 and August 2025, retailing between $25 and $50. The lounger features sides that are too short, a sleeping surface too thick, excessively wide openings at the foot, and lacks the required support stand.

These design flaws create a dangerous environment for infants, with the potential for suffocation or positional asphyxia. Although no injuries have been reported, the lounger’s removal is part of a broader push to eliminate unsafe sleep products from the market. The CPSC has instructed customers to stop using the lounger immediately and request a full refund from Belivium.

Meanwhile, the NordicTrack Model NTRW19147 Rowing Machine—sold between November 2018 and April 2022 through Best Buy, Dick’s Sporting Goods, Nebraska Furniture Mart, ABT stores, and Amazon.com—has been recalled for overheating issues. A total of 44,800 units are affected, each priced around $1,700. The model numbers include NTRW19147.0, .1, .2, and .3.

There have been eight reported incidents, including two fires, six cases of smoking or melting, and over $6,000 in property damage. No injuries have been reported. Customers are advised to unplug the machines immediately and contact the manufacturer, iFIT Inc., for a free replacement screen console, which will be installed by an authorized technician.

Amazon’s Role Under Scrutiny As Recalls Grow

According to Newsweek, Amazon has not publicly commented on the recalls, despite being the exclusive sales channel for three of the four affected products. In 2025, Amazon ranked fifth on the Forbes Global 2000 list, with $637 billion in annual sales. This underscores the scale at which safety oversights can have nationwide impact when not adequately regulated.

The CPSC, in a statement on its website, emphasizes its mission clearly:

The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) is charged with protecting the public from unreasonable risk of injury associated with the use of thousands of types of consumer products. Deaths, injuries, and property damage from consumer product-related incidents cost the nation more than $1 trillion annually.

With recalls now touching multiple categories—from fitness equipment to infant care—it raises fresh questions about product screening standards on major online marketplaces.
