FRANCE / WORLD. Jean-Luc Chauvin, President of the Aix Marseille Provence Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIAMP) since November 2016, has been appointed by his peers to represent CCI France at the Franco Arab Chamber of Commerce (CCFA). According to a press release published on Wednesday 22 June 2022 by the CCIAMP, this appointment is "a recognition of his expertise on international economic issues and the positioning of the Aix-Marseille-Provence territory as a Euro-Mediterranean hub for Africa".

Created in December 1970, the CCFA brings together representatives from France and the Maghreb, Mashreq and Gulf countries with the aim of developing business relations between France and the Arab countries, a market of more than 370 million inhabitants. Its office, like its board of directors, is composed of members appointed half by the French member companies and half by the national Chambers of Commerce of the twenty-two member countries*.

It is placed under the aegis of the Economic Council of the League of Arab States and the Union of Arab Chambers.

"Representing the interests of French companies"

At its last Ordinary General Assembly (OGA) on 8 June 2022, the CCFA re-elected Frenchman Vincent Reina for a third three-year term (2022-2025). A graduate of the Ecole Supérieure de Gestion de Paris, he spent most of his career with the Suez group, eventually becoming director of development for France.

Chaired since January 2022 by Alain Di Crescenzo from Toulouse, CCI France is the national network of all the Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the Regional Chambers of Commerce and Industry, the Departmental Chambers of Commerce of Île-de-France and the Chambers of Commerce of the French Overseas Territories and New Caledonia, i.e. 122 public establishments.

Jean-Luc Chauvin was appointed the day before the CCFA's AGM and was therefore able to take part in the new bureau and board of directors on 8 June 2022. He succeeds Patrick Seguin, President of the CCI of Bordeaux.

"I am particularly grateful for the confidence that Alain Di Crescenzo, President of CCI France, has placed in me through this appointment to represent our network within this association (...) I will have at heart to represent the interests of French companies and to pursue and accelerate exchanges with the member countries", comments the new advisor.
