MEDITERRANEAN. The Anima Investment Network has unanimously elected Tarak Chérif as its new president. He succeeds Abdelkader Betari, representative of the Oriental (Morocco).
President of the Confederation of Citizen Enterprises of Tunisia (Conect) which he founded in 2011, Tarak Chérif (65 years old) has been at the head of the Tunisian group Alliance One since 1981. He holds a Master's degree in Law from the University of Paris-Sud and is also a graduate in management from the Institut supérieur de gestion de Paris and in international politics from the Institut des hautes études internationales.
Originally from Sfax, the new president of Anima also holds the position of Honorary Consul of Turkey in Tunisia since May 2011. He was elected in April 2018 Vice-President of the Federation of Arab Businessmen. He is also President of the African Tennis Confederation since 2004.
"I hope that we can work together on the issues that concern us and for which Anima must play a major role: the economic recovery and competitiveness of our economies, the attractiveness of territories, climate issues and sustainable development, dialogue and cooperation between organizations and companies in our Mediterranean countries," said Tarak Chérif.
Based in Marseilles, Anima, a platform for economic cooperation between Europe, the Middle East and Africa, brings together seventy organizations from eighteen countries.
