Luca di Meo gets into the Renault driver's seat
FRANCE. While his name had been circulating for several days, Luca de Meo was appointed, on Tuesday 28th January 2020, General Manager of Renault by decision of the Board of Directors of the car manufacturer.

Italian, Luca de Meo (53) is a graduate in business administration from the Luigi Bocconi Commercial University of Milan. He began his career at Renault before continuing it at Toyota Europe and then the Fiat Group where he managed the Lancia, Fiat and Alfa Romeo brands. He then joined the Volkswagen Group in 2009 as Marketing Director for passenger cars of the Volkswagen brand and the entire Volkswagen Group, and in 2012 he was appointed member of the Board of Directors in charge of Sales and Marketing at Audi AG.

Until his appointment at Renault, and since November 1, 2015, he was Chairman of the Executive Committee of SEAT and a member of the Supervisory Boards of Ducati and Lamborghini, as well as Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Volkswagen Group in Italy.

Luca de Meo will take up his duties, and also the presidency of Renault s.a.s., as of 1 July 2020 (due to a non-competition clause), when he will replace Clotilde Delbos.

Acting Chief Executive Officer since October 2019 and the ousting of Thierry Bolloré appointed in January 2019, she is also Chief Financial Officer of the Renault Group and Chairman of the Board of Directors of RCI Banque, and will take up the position of Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Renault SA as of July 1, 2020.
