SPAIN / FRANCE. The French Eiffel Investment Group announced on Tuesday 22 February 2022 that it will support the new projects of the Spanish Capital Energy with €50 million, through its bridge financing funds. The wind and solar power producer operates in Portugal and Spain. In the latter country, it is building four wind farms and one photovoltaic plant with a total capacity of 202 megawatts (MW).
The wind farms will be located in Soria (Castilla y León), Albacete (Castilla-La Mancha) and Huelva (Andalusia), with a total combined capacity of 194 MW, while the 8 MW solar plant will be built in Cuenca (Castilla-La Mancha). They are at different stages of development. These five projects will provide 590,000 MWh of clean energy per year, equivalent to the consumption of approximately 221,000 Spanish households, avoiding the annual emission of 218,000 tonnes of CO2 into the atmosphere.
Eiffel Investment Group, which specialises in alternative financing of the economy, (€4 billion in assets under management at the end of 2021) is therefore strengthening its commitment to Capital Energy by extending its bond facility with two new tranches for a total of €50 million (of which €20 million has already been committed).

A 34 GW portfolio
This financing completes the one that the French company has already granted, in March 2021, to the Spanish company, for the same amount of €50m. It concerned four wind farms (Asturias, Castilla y León, Andalusia) and a solar plant (Extremadura) for a total of 170 MW of installed capacity.
Capital Energy has a portfolio of renewable assets of around 34 gigawatts (GW), of which more than 8,000 MW have already been granted access to the electricity grid.
