MOROCCO / TUNISIA. The European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) announced on Wednesday 1 September 2021 the appointment of two new managers in the Maghreb.
The Frenchman Antoine Sallé de Chou will take up his post as director of operations for the bank in Morocco. He succeeds the French-Canadian Marie-Alexandra Veilleux-Laborie.
Based in Casablanca, Antoine Sallé de Chou says he wants to "continue to support the country through investment, small business advice and policy dialogue, in order to strengthen its economy and advance its private sector.
After working at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs (New York, Paris, Kiev) and then in management consulting in London at Marakon and at the French Treasury (based in Moscow), this holder of an MBA from Insead (2011) and a master's degree in International Affairs from Sciences Po (2005-2007) joined the EBRD in 2013 as a senior advisor for strategy and policy. In 2017, he joined Tunisia as Head of Office "where he managed a significant increase in the Bank's investments and strengthened policy engagement with the authorities, including on the EBRD's green economy transition approach," says a statement.
To date, since 2012, the EBRD has invested €3 billion in Morocco through 74 projects.
