British Gas customers are being urged to claim a £156 discount on their gas and electricity bills before USwitch's offer vanishes.
British Gas Offers £156 Savings on Fixed Tariff Amid Price Cap Decrease and USwitch Promotion
Customers of British Gas along with EDF, EON or OVO changing to British Gas can get benefit from a fixed tariff that guarantees energy bills will be £156 lower than the price cap for the next year.
This comes as prices are set to decrease by £118 on Monday, July 1, for all households not currently on a fixed tariff due to an adjustment in the Ofgem price cap.
When prices fall, the new average household bill for combined gas and electricity usage will be £1,568.
But today, USwitch has emailed customers about a British Gas deal that offers a saving of £156 over the next 14 months.
The email included: “Want price certainty with your energy? Lock in this hugely popular fix from the award-winning1 British Gas now, before our offer ends.
“With a super-competitive price, this tariff secures your rates for the next 14 months. So you won’t need to worry about those nasty price rises forecast this winter.”
British Gas Fixed Tariff Offers Savings Amid Rising Price Cap Concerns
The 14-month British Gas fix provides energy rates equal to £1,600 a year for a typical household.
In October, the price cap is expected to go up by 12%, and costs might increase again in January, making this British Gas offer £156 less expensive than the October price cap and a potentially greater saving in the new year.
Even when considering the price difference from July to October, which amounts to £10.22 more per quarter, you can still save £146 with the British Gas fix compared to the price cap.
Other fixes are available, including E.On’s Next Pledge tracker, which guarantees to stay 3% below the price cap. There are also other deals on the market — but you must act fast before they are no longer available.
