Thousands of US customers could be affected by a new settlement involving Zumba Fitness. The case concerns allegations about the way customer information was handled through the company’s website. Zumba has denied wrongdoing but agreed to settle the dispute.
Who Could Qualify For The Payment?
The settlement covers people who purchased the Basic 1 instructor training course through Zumba.com between October 22, 2022 and October 22, 2024.
Their names must also have appeared on order confirmation pages that were available to at least one of three third-party advertisers. Eligible class members must have been living in the US when they made their purchase.
Zumba Denies Wrongdoing
The lawsuit alleged that Zumba used tracking technology on its website that gave third-party advertisers access to customer information. Plaintiffs argued that the practice violated the federal Video Privacy Protection Act.
Zumba Fitness has denied wrongdoing but agreed to the settlement to resolve the litigation without further court proceedings.
How Much Could Customers Receive?
Eligible customers are expected to receive at least $229.33, although the final amount is not fixed. The payment will depend on how many valid claims are submitted.
Around 4,543 people are estimated to qualify under the settlement terms. Settlement administrators should already have contacted people identified as eligible for compensation.
Claim Deadline Is January 24, 2027
Eligible class members must update their mailing address or choose an online payment option through the Zumba settlement website by January 24, 2027.
The deadline applies to people who have already received a settlement notice and need to provide or update their payment information.
Court Hearing Is Scheduled For January
A final approval hearing is scheduled for January 21, 2027. If the settlement receives court approval, payments are expected to be distributed within 60 days of the hearing.
Eligible Zumba customers should check their settlement notice and complete the required payment information before the January 24 deadline.
