More than 4 million tubes of toothpaste have been recalled nationwide, affecting 17 products sold under the Brush Buddies, Evo, and ARU brands. Several varieties marketed to children, including Barbie, Hot Wheels, and My Little Pony toothpaste, are among those affected.
FDA Classifies the Nationwide Recall as Class II
According to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Pritam International Private Limited initiated the voluntary recall on September 10. The agency subsequently classified the action as a Class II recall on October 19.
The classification identifies products that may pose a health risk, although serious adverse consequences are considered unlikely.
The FDA’s website lists a Class II recall as
“a situation in which use of or exposure to a violative product may cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or where the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.”
The agency’s enforcement report confirms that the affected toothpaste products were distributed nationwide.
The FDA did not specify what prompted the recall.
Without a stated reason, the enforcement report does not establish whether the products were recalled because of contamination, manufacturing problems, labeling issues, or another regulatory concern.

How Consumers Can Identify Recalled Toothpaste
Consumers who have purchased toothpaste from any of the three brands can compare the product name and flavor with the FDA’s recall listing.
The product name alone may not be enough to determine whether a particular tube is affected. The agency’s enforcement report provides additional identifying information, including recall numbers and expiration dates.
Consumers should check those details before assuming that every tube bearing one of the listed product names falls within the recall.
The full information is available through the FDA’s official Enforcement Report database.
The recall involves more than 4 million toothpaste tubes distributed across the United States, with 17 listed varieties spanning children’s flavored toothpaste, whitening formulas, sensitivity products, and gum-care toothpaste.
