All lots and flavors of True Sea Moss Gel Superfood have been pulled from shelves across the U.S. following a voluntary recall by Diva Fam Inc. The FDA issued a nationwide warning, citing a lack of regulatory authorization and missing temperature control records for the pH-sensitive product.

Sea moss gel, widely marketed as a superfood, has become increasingly popular among health-conscious consumers across the United States. But the widespread availability of this product has now been met with an equally wide-reaching recall.

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has confirmed that Diva Fam Inc. is voluntarily recalling its entire line of True Sea Moss brand Sea Moss Gel Superfood. The recall, which spans all flavors, sizes, and batch numbers produced before January 9, 2026, affects products distributed both online and through select retailers nationwide.

Recall Triggered by Regulatory Inspection

According to the FDA, the recall was prompted by findings from a California Department of Public Health inspection. The inspection reportedly revealed a “lack of required regulatory authorization and temperature monitoring records for pH-controlled food products.” The absence of these controls poses potential health risks, particularly for items like sea moss gel that require strict monitoring to prevent the growth of harmful bacteria.

All affected products were sold in 16-ounce glass jars under the True Sea Moss label. Though no illnesses or adverse reactions have been reported to date, the FDA has advised consumers to immediately stop using the product and either return it or dispose of it following instructions provided by the retailer.

In its statement, the FDA said the manufacturer is cooperating fully with authorities and initiated the recall “to ensure regulatory alignment.” According to the agency, the matter is being treated as a precautionary step, and public notification is part of a standard process during firm-initiated voluntary recalls. The FDA also confirmed that it would monitor the recall and evaluate the company’s health hazard assessments and strategy moving forward.

Product Distribution and Consumer Guidance

According to the FDA alert, True Sea Moss Gel Superfood was available for purchase across the United States through both in-store and online channels. Consumers who may have purchased any flavor or batch of the gel prior to January 9, 2026, are urged to cross-reference their product’s UPC number with the recall list provided in the FDA alert.

Customers who have questions or require further guidance can contact Diva Fam Inc. directly via phone at 818-751-3882 during business hours or by emailing [email protected]. The company has not issued a public comment as of the last report.

The FDA maintains a regularly updated online database of recalls, known as the FDA Enforcement Report, which categorizes and details each recall based on the level of health risk. According to the agency, most food recalls in the U.S. are voluntary and result from companies’ own quality checks or inspections carried out by state and federal health departments. While this particular recall has not been linked to foodborne illness or allergen exposure, the FDA emphasized that consistent oversight is necessary in pH-sensitive products to maintain public safety.
