So you wake up, glance out of the window and wonder what you should wear today. Typically, British weather, isn't it? Well, before you throw on the same old coat and boots, let's have a look at the UK weather forecast to see if the weather is really going to dare to be different this evening and the coming days.

Current Weather Forecast Across the UK

As the week began, a picturesque mist covered some areas, evoking serene images similar to scenes from Northamptonshire. At present, the rain is dissipating over eastern regions, although it is lingering in the far north-east. Showers are expected to arrive from the west today and tomorrow, and could become wintry over the Scottish highlands. Cold conditions can be expected under clearer skies, with the possibility of scattered frosts. Tomorrow looks set to be clearer.

Rain and Showers

While north-east England and Scotland see lingering rain and showers, the rest of the country can expect periodic sunny spells and mild temperatures ranging from 8 to 12°C. Some areas, especially in Northern Ireland and western Scotland, may see showers turn wintry over higher ground. As night falls, rain is expected to continue in Shetland and parts of Scotland. Elsewhere, showers are possible in Wales and southwest England amidst clearer skies. With temperatures dropping, rural spots could see frost.

Nightfall and Monday's Prelude

As the night progresses, the temperatures will fall, particularly in rural areas, which may lead to frosts and icy stretches in areas of persistent showers. Monday looks to bring a mix of sun and scattered showers, most likely in northern and western parts of the UK. Despite a chill in the air, temperatures will reach a pleasant 6 to 10°C, feeling cooler near the coast due to wind.

Tuesday's Weather Transition

By Tuesday, high pressure will bring drier and sunnier weather for a time. However, an approaching weather system from the southwest will send temperatures rising into the mid-teens on Wednesday, along with rain and cloudier skies. Overall, the next couple of days promise a combination of sunny breaks and rain, so enjoy the brighter intervals when you can!

Snow forecast for this week

Over the next few days, the snow forecast for the UK is mixed, to say the least. According to the latest forecasts from meteorologists, only certain parts of the country stand a chance of experiencing wintry weather. If you were hoping for a white winter, you may be out of luck this week. Stay tuned for updates and embrace the unpredictability of British weather!
