MEDITERRANEAN. On 16 and 17 April 2011, Femise, the network of economic research institutions that deal with issues that affect the Mediterranean, and the ERF, a network of three hundred economists from the Mediterranean, brought some fifty experts together in Istanbul to discuss “Migration in the Arab region: Factors and consequences.” Focus on remittances from emigrants.

MEDITERRANEAN COUNTRIES. Great disparities remain between the productive performance of countries in the MENA zone. A study carried out by FEMISE highlighted the delay in the region compared to major developing countries, with the clear exception of Morocco.
